Technology is not my friend! I spent an hour writing my first draft of this grand introduction... and then it wouldn't save! Let's try this again!
Introducing our two newest scents just in time for the first day of winter! Renew and Courage! Our selection of these magnificent words is part of the fun in creating new scents for our Drew's Candle line. We started with words like Hope and Joy to express feelings we want to illuminate for those who suffer from mental illness. As you know, we give a portion of our proceeds to Nami in support of this community. I also draw on my own experience in recovery from alcoholism to find words with meaning.
I love Christmas just as much as the next person but I also love purging my home of Christmas decor and giving it a fresh do over. The new year always symbolizes a time for me to reflect on the past year and all my accomplishments as well as my failures so that I can set new goals for the coming year. I love the fact that each day no matter what time of year we can start over or "Renew" and I also love the Serenity Prayer: "God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference." (Maybe God needed me to write that again! :) )
Take some time as we wrap up 2018 and let's reflect on where we've been and where we want to go. Jot it down. Dare to dream. I just have to share this quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr:
“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Happy New Year!!
A Description of the scents are: Renew in Urban Winter scent (Warm red ginger, crushed clove and cinnamon with fresh grapefruit and undertones of tuberose.) and Courage in Chestnut & Clove scent with a hint of cedar.
